This species has some of the most striking foliage among the jewel orchids.  It is easy to grow, and often is quite robust in terrarium conditions, with a thick stem and very sturdy growth even when small.  It tolerates warm temperatures (<85F) and is quick to bloom once it reaches a certain size.  It does well in 100% sphagnum moss and terrarium conditions.  It’s widespread, and occurs in the Himalayas, Assam, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Thailand and Laos.

Available plants are well rooted in 2″ pots.  Not grown from TC. These are not spindely little plants like you see often offered for jewl orchids.  They have fully opened leaves and a good solid stem.
