Begonia blancii ‘dark’

Winning Bid: $45

Begonia blancii was discovered in 2010 on Palawan Island in the Philipines.  It is named after Patric Blanc, the first to formally document it.  It’s a small, somewhat succulent species whose leaves only reach 3-5 inches.  It grows on rock faces and is more tolerant of drying out than would appear at first glance.  I have grown it as a houseplant as well as in the terrarium, and it seems well suited to both growing conditions so long as it doesn’t go dry for too long.  There are a few forms, including green, mottled, and dark.  The one available here is the dark form.

The plant available is the exact one pictured.  It will be shipped potted.
