Begonia sp. Maura Wahau

Winning Bid: $62

Begonia sp. Maura Wahau is a newer species to cultivation that has not been identified yet.  Maura Wahau is in East Kalimantan, Borneo.  I’ve had this species in my collection for a little over a year, and so far the leaves have maxed out around 3-4″, but it’s possible they get larger.  It is more of an upright trailing species though, so I doubt they could get much larger without some significant structural support as the leaves are rather hefty compared to the stem, which seems more rhizomatous.  The leave are beautifully colored a golden-pink, and covered in bright pink polka dots.  Overall this does not seem to be a terribly difficult species to grow, but it is on the slower side, and requires very high humidity.

The plant available is the exact plant pictured (first image). There are three small rooted plants.  It will be shipped bare root.
