Begonia sp. Surat Thani

This species was grown from seed from a plant originating in Thailand.  It has deeply bullate leaves and a very unique flower.  Tepals are cream-colored and pink striations run from the bottom of the tepals towards the tips.  Ovaries are yellow-green.  Like many tuberous species, it flowers readily.  Randy Kerr suggested it might be phoeneograma, or a phoeneograma hybrid, as that species is distinguished by its red tepal striations, but is not known to occur in Thailand.  In any case, a really gorgous and unique plant.

The last photo is representative of the plants available. They are in 4″ pots.
