Begonia susaniae
$30
Begonia susaniae is a beautifully textured and colored Begonia that occurs in Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Cameroon. New growth comes out a pale green, with slightly serrated leaf edges. As the plant matures, bullae originating from the leaves center form, and almost the entire front surface of the leaf turns a pinkish-red. Only the leaf edges remain the original green color. Mature plants stand about 7 inches tall.
It has an interesting growth habit, where occasionally even leaves some inches off the ground will start self-propagating from the leaf base/the point where the petiole is attached, growing a flush of tiny green leaves.
Available plants are well-rooted in 4″ pots. They will be shipped potted. The last photo is representative of the size plant you will receive.
