Hoffmannia bullata occurs in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panamá. It is a slower growing, but not difficult species, whose leaves just gets more dramatic with maturity. New growth comes out reddish pink but turns green shortly after. It is in the Rubiaceae family, the coffee family.
