Tectaria hilocarpa

This one was a surprise for me, it appeared in a bin one day, grown from spore.  It took about six years to reach a plant 9 inches or so across.  Thick undulate fronds, produces spore readily, birds-nest shaped and terrestrial.  It occurs in the Philippines and Borneo and is for some reason rarely seen in cultivation despite it being available through a few international sellers.

Available plants are well rooted in 4″ pots and will be shipped potted. They are offshoots from the plant that grew from seed.  The last photo is representative of the plants available.
