Triolena obliqua

A miniature Melastome that occurs from Panama to Peru.  There are two forms of this plant, green and purple.  Flowers are white and diminutive, but frequent.  It has only reached about 5″ for me but it’s possible it could get slightly taller. Foliage is covered in hairs and textured, with each leaf being composed of four main sections oriented laterally along the midrib. Slow-growing and compact, it makes a rare Melastome that is suited to miniature terrariums.  I have some growing in with filmy ferns and bryophytes and it does not outcompete them.

Available plants are well-rooted in 2″ pots. They will be shipped potted. The last photo is representative of the size plant you will receive.
